How and why we use Cookie files

The basic mechanism of the website csw.art.pl does not use cookies. This means, that on all the csw.art.pl pages which do not display video materials and are not connected to external sites for projects, artists’ websites, profile websites, and pages on Facebook, these files are not saved. Also, no information about the user is collected by the website csw.art.pl (beyond the standard recording mechanisms in server logs, appropriate for the used Internet protocol http).
However, due to the presence of films and video materials on the website csw.art.pl, especially those published originally on community pages such as Vimeo.com and YouTube.com, cookie files may be stored. Cookie files may also be used by the websites to which we refer, posting links to them, such as artists’ websites, project websites, our partners’ and patrons’ websites as well as profiles or pages on Facebook. Therefore, the pages displaying video materials and the connected through links external sites, may be using cookies according to the principles, mechanisms and policies defined by those sites.
 

Information about cookie files

1. Cookie files (so-called "cookies") are computer data, especially text files, which are stored on the User’s Data Terminal Equipment and are intended for use by websites. Cookies typically contain the name of the website from which they come from, storage time on the data terminal equipment as well as a unique number (IP).

2. Cookie files are commonly used to:
   •    customize the content for a website of the web server to the User’s prefrences as well as optimizing the use of websites, in particular, these files allow for the recognition of the user’s device and to properly display the website, tailored to the User’s individual needs;
   •    create statistics that help to understand how the User benefits from a website, which allows for the improvement of their structure and content;
   •    maintain the User’s session (after logging in), so the user does not have to re-enter login and password on every page.

Website Users may at any time change their cookie settings. These settings can be amended in such a way as to block the automatic service of cookie files in the settings of a web browser or to inform every time cookies are stored in the user’s device.
